Disaster ReliefFaithful to our mission House of Charity reached out in response to the devastation caused by Hurricane Ike & Hurricane Katrina providing immediate relief and urgent supplies to the displaced and affected families. Later supplies, uniforms, clothing, were provided to children and schools through schools. Counseling sessions were conducted in schools to help students adjust with trauma of disaster. Shelter was also provided in Healing Homes to children and families from Shriner's Hospital located in Galveston, TXHurricane Harvey:Hurricane Harvey, one of the most destructive storms in the history of the United States, made landfall in southeast Texas on Aug. 25, 2017 as a Category 4 storm, submerging 2.3 million inhabitants and their homes including nearly 3 million children in the Houston area. Vulnerable children and their families have been forced to evacuate their homes, not knowing whether they’ll still be standing when they return. Houstonians who don’t own their homes and who survive on hourly wages are facing another problem how to paying rent. The House of Charity is moving forward with Rebuilding Lives and Communities after Hurricane Harvey with Recovery Programs. These programs are bridging the gap between survival and recovery. All aid programs, resources and information are available in multiple languages.
